Kristi Allik : "Shadow of the Wolf" Kristi Allik (Canada) Kristi Allik has had performances of her work in Europe, South America and North America. Some of her awards include honorable mentions at Bourges and Ars Electronica, as well as numerous commissions from the Canada Council, Ontario Arts Council, and the Chalmers Foundation. Her work, "Electronic Purgatory" for digital music theatre, has been performed in Linz (Ars Electronica Festival), Berlin (16th Berlin Biennale), Switzerland, Norway (ISCM), United States and Canada. An earlier form of "Electronic Purgatory" called "Pentaprism" has also been performed in Bourges, France. She is currently the Director of the Queens University Electroacoustic Music Studios in Kingston, Canada. "Shades of the Resonance" 730 This is originally a work for English horn and electroacoustic music, but may be also played from tape alone. One version of this work may also be performed with slides. The work was originally premiered by Lawrence Cherney at Kingston, Ontario, in 1997. The work consists of aural and visual images of northern Lake Superior coastline and landscape in Canada. |
